Kid Quotes

Bennett woke up for a few seconds early this morning, just long enough to ask, “When I grow up, will I be Jeffrey’s big brother?”
“No, honey. You’ll always be the baby.”
“I’m not a baby.”
“I know. But you’re the youngest , so you’ll always be the baby.” (The boys have three older half-siblings.)
His only response was to snuggle up to me and go back to sleep. Continue reading

400 Posts!

Well, now it’s 401. I just happened to notice that I have 400 posts on this blog. So I decided to waste time I really shouldn’t be wasting and check out a few stats just for fun.

Out of 400 total posts, 284 were in 2011. Needless to say, I didn’t get serious about blogging until last year.

My stats only go back to August 2010, for whatever reason.
August-Dec 2010: 473 Pageviews (94.6/month)
Jan – Dec 2011: 10,102 Pageviews (841/month – a bit of an improvement, I think)
Jan – Feb 2012: 4,530 Pageviews (2,265/month – hey, I have readers!)
Year-to-date: 5,131 Pageviews

So a little after two months into the year, I’ve had almost half of the amount of traffic I had for all of last year. Not bad. My next goal is to reach 100 hits a day consistently. That would involve posting every day again. And not wasting time playing with my stats. 😉

Mom, According to Jack (At Age 10)

Friday, I posted the answers Jack gave me three years ago. Here’s what he had to say today.

1. What is something mom always says to you?
Calm down.

2. What makes mom happy?
Me being calmed down

I don’t know. I know what makes you mad, though.

You make a stupid joke. (Apparently that hasn’t changed.)

7. How tall is your mom?
Can you stand up? Where’s that ruler? *searches desk for ruler* I don’t know. Six feet. Five feet. How tall are you?

9. What does your mom do when you’re not around?
I have absolutely no idea. I’m not around.

10. If your mom becomes famous, what will it be for?
Wait. Are you good at drawing? (No.) I don’t know. I can’t think of things people get famous for.

Reading. But I’m not sure you can get famous for reading.

We both really like to read. (But apparently, we don’t ever read together.)

19. How are you and your mom different?
I like games where you run around, and you like games that are all puzzley. Wait. Is puzzley a word?

20. How do you know your mom loves you?
These are hard questions… Oh, ‘cuz almost every night, you say you love me and Blake. (So, not because of all the stuff I do for you?) Sometimes the simple answers are the best answers. (I have no idea what that means.)

21. Where is your mom’s favorite place to go?
These are really hard questions. Can you give me a hint? Blake, do you know? I don’t know. (I don’t know, either.)
