You know the unofficial USPS creed?
“Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.”
Well, my week has been like that, only without the heat part.
“Neither snow nor rain nor pressure washers nor gloom of night stays this chick from the not-so-swift completion of moving her junk from one location to another.”
Yesterday it rained. All day. For the most part, it was a light rain, as in, it wasn’t a stinging rain. It was still more than a sprinkle, though. I just kept my hood up and put a trash bag over the boxes I was carrying.
This morning it snowed, but that was before I got up. It was pretty much just the cold I had to deal with. So I wore three layers of clothes. Which was great for when I was toting boxes to and from the car. The problem was that every time I went inside, I had a heat stroke.
Maybe we should add “heat” back into that creed.
But it’s all done. Everything is out and the apartment is clean and while I’m a little sad to be leaving it, I know this is just a new chapter in my life, and as always, all you can do is just do the next thing.
Just hopefully not when it’s raining or snowing.
