Well, I actually did it. There were a couple weekends when my Saturday post went up on Sunday, and I skipped day between posting S and T, but I actually completed the challenge.
I had a little tag at the bottom of each post:
For some reason, I thought it would be a good idea to participate in the Blogging from A to Z Challenge. If you want to see the other 1,600+(!) blogs, check out the list here.
But the truth is, I know how I got roped in. It was the same friends who got me into BlogFlash2012 and Photo-A-Day back in August. I didn’t finish either of those because I had life and computer issues. So if you want to know who to blame for all my weird posts last month, take it up with Donna and Coral at The Indie Exchange and Kriss at Cabin Goddess.
I did enjoy the challenge, although it did take some time to blog every day. I like that I have content on my blog again. Most of what I’ve posted lately has been giveaways, which are great, but that’s not all I want to have on here.
I do wish I’d had more time to check out all the other blogs. I started out reading the five blogs below me on the list each day, but I ran out of time. Fortunately, there is the A-Z Road Trip, during which I can visit the other blogs over the next few months. Because I haven’t even had time to read all my friends’ posts. I have a third friend who participated, but she found out about it from me, so I can’t blame her for anything. (Lori over at Journey To A Healthy Me.)
Something that the hosts did that made it much easier for me to keep up with the letter-of-day was to make a calendar with the letters on it. I just posted the image as my desktop image and not only did I know which letter to use, but I had no excuse for forgetting to post.
The sign-up list started with more than 1800 blogs. Some were ad blogs that were just trying to get a backlink and traffic, but most were real bloggers. By the end of the month, more than 200 of those blogs were gone. I did blog daily from April 2011 through November 2011, but this is the first outside challenge I’ve ever finished. I’m pretty proud of myself for not being one of the 200+ to drop out. 🙂
Now to decide if I want to do another challenge for May…
