I found out accidentally today that as of March 2012, Google Friend Connect will no longer be available on non-Blogger blogs. And, yeah, this is a Blogger blog, but I will be moving it to WordPress as a self-hosted blog in December. I’ve been planning this for several months; I’ve just been trying to find 2-3 days without some kind of giveaway or event so the disruption wouldn’t be as bad if I’m offline for a couple days.
Soooo, decisions, decisions. I thought about removing the GFC widget, but there really is no need for that. It’ll still work for a few months. But if GFC is the primary way you follow this blog, you’ll need to find a new way to follow. I apologize for the inconvenience, but I believe switching to WP will allow me to make the blog better in the long run.
I’m all over the place, so there are several ways you can follow me.
Google+ (There is no widget on the sidebar for Google+ because IE not only wouldn’t display it, it caused the whole page to disappear.)
Follow via email or a reader
I truly appreciate each and every one of my readers and I’d hate to lose anyone. This will also affect any other WordPress blogs you’re following, so you’ll want to find new ways to follow them as well.
