Sunday Summary

The Sunday Summary is back! I didn’t post one last week. I ended up publishing four posts on Sunday, and when I finished the fourth one at 9:30 PM, I decided that was enough for both me and you. So, you get two weeks of reviews and giveaways.

Ain’t No Sunshine: Men Reveal the Pain of Heartbreak, The Virgin Diaries, The Only Way to Paradise, A Sound Among the Trees, and Eyes Like Stars.

Nancy M. won Redeeming Love.
Shannon B. won The Leftovers: A Novel.
Congratulations to Nancy & Shannon and thanks to everyone who entered!

Sneak peek at next week
I’ll be reviewing Surviving Emily as part of a blog tour for author Laurie Bellesheim. November is “Adopt An Indie” month, and while most of my reviews are from indie authors, I’ll be featuring at least one this month. Maybe more if we have more authors in need of adoption. (Hint, hint) I’m reviewing The Unwilling Bride.

The Spooktacular Giveaway Hop is still open. Enter to win Waking Hours by Lis Weihl.
Tomorrow’s “Make It Mine” Monday book will be Eyes Like Stars by Lisa Mantchev. There is still time to vote for a different book, but Eyes Like Stars has a pretty strong lead. No dangling chads here.

I Write Like…

I saw this on Leeswammes’ Blog this morning, and thought I’d give a shot. My first response was, “I write like a deranged lunatic,” but apparently that wasn’t one of the choices. Judith writes like James Joyce. The blogger friend she swiped this from writes like J.D. Salinger. I write like people I’ve never heard of.

Actually, I’ve seen this before, but I don’t think I’ve ever tried it. So I put one blog post in, and got Cory Doctorow. I’ve never heard of him, but apparently, he’s a sci-fi guru. Color me clueless.

Tried another blog post just because I can’t just stop with one and assume everything’s hunky-dory, and got David Foster Wallace. Never heard of him, either, but it seems he was big on irony. I can relate to that. Except I call it being a smarta$$. Whatever works.

So I put part of a story I wrote. I was curious if I’d get yet a third famous writer I was clueless about. Nope. Cory Doctorow again. So there you go, I’m sure you were dying to know that…
